The alarm goes off and I slowly roll over to see that it’s 4:30am, time to get up it’s another work day.
I jump out of bed and grab my clothes. I drop those off at the bathroom as I pass by on my way to let the dogs out. I start the coffee while I’m waiting on them. After letting my furry friends back in I jump in the shower.
A few moments later I am out – I grab a cup of coffee to consume as I apply my make-up and do my hair. Another quick glance at the clock alerts me that it’s time to go if I’m going to beat the worst of the traffic. I drive approximately 35 miles each way – five days a week.
As I drive in I listen to ‘my’ music. This is my time! I am so fortunate because I have a great job.
I’ve worked my up through the trenches and now I am a salaried employee. Surprisingly, some onlookers believe this is what it means to be successful but I know different.
About that time I wake up! Thank goodness, it was only a dream!
You see, that was my life a few years ago – that was before I discovered the internet. The internet opened up my eyes to the many options available to me and anyone else that desires to get away from the rat race – the corporate jungle.
I really didn’t know how tired I was until I left it. The office politics and gossip – who needs it?!!
Don’t get me wrong – I still get up reasonably early, usually about 6:30 or 7am. But I can adjust my work schedule to suit me. I continue to put in eight hours plus each and every day – but I can honestly say that I enjoy almost every hour of the day.
My success depends on me and me alone. If I succeed my family and I benefit – I’m not making a company rich – but I’m striving to put as much money as possible in my own pocket.
