Money Saving Tips!

Here are some basic ideas that could save you lots of money...
Begin with simple things... Let's consider a typical day in your life.
Beginning with your morning coffee, have you ever thought about how much money you could save by making your coffee at home and taking a to-go mug with you?
Next, let's think about your transportation to your job. Hopefully you have either a car that is very economical or you ride a bus or even carpool. Those options can result in huge savings.
Now on to your breaks and lunch. Obviously taking your snacks and lunch from home is another way to create great savings. Not only that, but it will also provide an opportunity to eat more healthily. A great option for snacks is that of fresh vegetables and dip. Add a few almonds and you are set! Packing your own lunch means that you will save time and money. No longer will you need to rush to the nearest fast-food restaurant, grab the first thing you see and eat quickly so that you can get back to work in time. Instead you can enjoy your lunch in a leisurely fashion, while enjoying the knowledge that you are saving money.

Here's another tip that will help in different ways --- before leaving work or making any trip consider how you can combine your errands in a way that will not only save gasoline but also time. This technique will help you with time management as well as organization.
Planning is a key to savings. When you go grocery shopping be sure that you have a list of needs and stick with it. Be aware that the most nutritious food items are usually found around the perimeter of the store. With being said, shop the outside aisles and the back of the grocery. Try not to push your cart down the interior aisles - that will limit how much you can carry and thus you will be more likely to stick with the healthier choices.
By planning your meals in advance you will save money and eat better. Some people find cooking a week's worth of meals on the weekend very helpful.
It is also wise to plan meals that can be used as left-overs. A great example of this is cooking a roast and then using the left-overs as the base for beef stew. Don't forget about your pets. Never throw away left-overs that could be fed to your dog. When you dine out be sure to take home what you don't eat.
Consider watching TV on your computer. I know that sounds silly but the costs of cable and/or satellite TV has skyrocketed over the years. You can stream in the same channels and more over the Internet for very low cost.
Insure that your home is energy efficient in every way you can. If you feel air around your windows and doors then do what you can to eliminate those leaks. In many cases you can add caulking but in others you may need to replace the doors or windows. Never overlook the importance of adequate insulation. In today's economy just getting by seems to be the norm. Most of us are cutting back on our expenses in ways that we never wanted to and never thought possible. We are finding new ways to make being at home more fun - we're adding more hobbies to our lives and other things like reading and watching movies - and we are finding that we can enjoy those times at home! But sadly the cable TV and Satellite industry seems to be taking advantage of that to a great degree - what we have to pay seems ridiculous in some cases. If you would like to save hundreds over the course of the year click this link: Satellite Soft For a small one time payment you could have over 3000 channels streaming into your computer! Money Saving Tips - Try eBay!
Have you ever shopped on eBay? You really can find some great bargains there!
EBay is an amazing resource and more than that - the prices are almost always bargains!
I have provided a list of ten things you (probably) never thought to buy on eBay:
Postage Stamps: Yes, it is possible to get a discount on postage stamps! A lot of times companies or individuals will purchase a mass quantity of stamps for a mailing and end up not using them all. The USPS doesn’t buy back stamps, so a good alternative is to sell on eBay. Expect to pay between 80% and 90% of face value, with the bigger discount coming from a larger purchase quantity.
Timeshares: Real estate is big on eBay, especially timeshares! As long as you are careful in reading all of the fine print and purchasing from a reputable seller, you can come away with a great vacation at a fantastic value. You can easily pick and choose from a wide variety of locations, amenities, and prices.
Over-the-counter medication: Need to replenish your supply of Advil, Visine, Airborne, or Mylanta? It’s almost always drastically cheaper, and you can also search for generic or store brands. You can save hundreds of dollars a year doing this.
Makeup: There are certain shades and certain brands of makeup we all know use. It’s easy to search for these on eBay and buy them in bulk or at a discount. It’s also a great way to find discontinued colors that you love and can’t live without! Simply set up a search for your favorite discontinued items and save it so you are emailed whenever an auction matching your criteria comes up. You may find some of your favorites from years past!
eBay Business Supplies: I see so many people who sell on eBay using padded envelopes or other supplies from the USPS — not the free Priority or Express mail supplies, but the expensive supplies sold in post offices. If you know you’re going to sell more than just a few items, buy your supplies on eBay! Great discounts are to be had on bubble mailers, bubble sheets, labels, and more.
Spices: Yes, kitchen spices! Pumpkin pie spice, garlic powder, cumin, seasoned salt, paprika, well, the list is endless. I am often able to get many times the amount for the same or a little over what I usually pay at the grocery store.
Gift Cards: If you frequently shop at a certain store, it pays (literally) to check out the gift certificates category on eBay. People resell gift cards they aren’t interested in using, and you can often get a good discount. Some of the more popular stores sell for nearly 100% of face value, but others sell for 70% to 90% of face value. If you’re going to spend the money at the store anyway, why not buy a gift card and save a few bucks? It's almost like free money!
Food: The food category on eBay is huge. You can buy your favorite overseas candy, soda flavors you can’t find locally, fresh baked cookies just like mom made them, protein bars, elegant desserts, and much more. A word of warning though… looking for food on eBay can make you hungry!
Massage Appointments: These can usually be found in the gift certificates category. A lot of spas and massage therapy locations will sell gift certificates for massages at discounted rates to gain new customers. As long as you are careful to check that the location is legit, you can find a great deal.
Magazine Subscriptions: Magazines make money selling ads, and they can charge more for their ads if they have more subscribers. Because of that, they will let go of a lot of subscriptions to brokers for very low prices. A lot of these brokers sell on eBay. Imagine buying a year’s subscription to your favorite magazine for only $3! They usually take four to eight weeks to kick in, but it’s well worth the wait.
